I moved...twice!!!
I think I've finally learned the lesson that in my current season of life, there's really no such thing as getting into a routine or groove. Over the past 2 decades I've been looking ahead saying things like "...when things calm down and I get back into a routine..." when honestly, I'm not sure I ever was in a routine to begin with. The last 6 months have been the perfect example of that!
Last summer I found out that I'd need to find a new photography studio. The building that housed my Phoenixville location was going to be repurposed. Thankfully, I had a great opportunity come up at the same time to help my landlord, Eadeh Enterprises, create a photography studio co-op in Devon. They saw a need for local photographers to have an affordable studio space which lined up with me needing to find a new suitable location for my studio. So, the Devon Photography Loft was born and I've spent the last several months getting all situated there. The Devon studio gives me a super convenient and comfortable location for my dance portraits and audition photos, performing arts headshots, professional headshots and indoor, studio styled family portraits. I'm right by the Devon train station - which is great for clients who use public transportation. I have tons of space, free parking, a kitchen and all the gear that I need for my sessions! And as a bonus, since the studio is a shared co-op, I now have several new local photographer friends as well!
Also last summer my family decided we wanted to simplify life by moving to a new home that suited our current lifestyle better. We moved closer to everything, reducing our time spent driving around by a lot. We can now walk or take the train to almost every one of our activities - including my new studio!
So now, as I look ahead, instead of thinking "...when things calm down and I get back into a routine...", I'm thinking "...I wonder what kind of new adventures and opportunities are waiting in the days and weeks ahead..."!
